About the role:

Everest is seeking an experienced and driven Claims Specialist to join our Singapore office. This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the growth and development of our Marine and Aviation portfolios across the Asia-Pacific region.

As a Claims Specialist, you will play a key role in delivering best-in-class claims handling, primarily focused on Marine Cargo and Aviation lines. You’ll be part of a collaborative and globally connected claims function, with the opportunity to work on complex and technical claims in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

Role Purpose:

The primary responsibility of this role is to manage and support the technical oversight of Everest Asia’s Marine and Aviation claims portfolio, in line with corporate guidelines and industry best practices.

This includes:

  • Managing end-to-end claims activities: investigation, evaluation, documentation, and resolution.
  • Partnering with underwriters and market stakeholders to provide insights and feedback on claims trends and issues.
  • Supporting the Head of Claims, Asia, in developing strategic claims solutions and maintaining strong relationships with brokers, clients, and internal teams.
  • Contributing to process improvements, quality assurance, and compliance efforts.

We are open to applicants with expertise in either Marine, Aviation, or Transport (MAT) claims. Knowledge of transport law would be an asset.

Key Accountabilities:

Strategic

  • Deliver a high standard of claims service that enhances the client and broker experience.
  • Contribute to the evolution of the Marine and Aviation claims functions, aligned with business goals.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to deliver effective and innovative claims solutions.
  • Maintain strong broker and customer relationships to support business retention and growth.
  • Monitor and report on claims trends, offering data-driven insights to underwriting and regional leadership.
  • Represent Everest in the market as a trusted, solution-oriented partner and brand ambassador.

Operational

  • Handle and oversee Marine and Aviation claims across Asia, ensuring adherence to Everest’s Claims Minimum Standards.
  • Prepare detailed Large Claims Reports, including reserve movements and strategic recommendations.
  • Ensure all claims processes comply with regulatory and internal governance frameworks.
  • Manage relationships with external vendors, third-party administrators (TPAs), and service providers.
  • Support internal audits and quality assurance reviews.

Experience & Skills:

  • 4–5+ years of experience in handling Marine, Aviation, or Transport claims (MAT).
  • Strong understanding of claims management principles and portfolio oversight.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to produce clear, concise reports and summaries.
  • Proactive, collaborative, and comfortable engaging with senior stakeholders and external partners.
  • Strategic thinker with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Flexible and adaptable, with a continuous improvement mindset.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and a team-oriented attitude.

Qualifications:

  • University degree required; claims-related or legal qualifications highly desirable.
  • Prior experience in complex claims resolution and dispute management is an advantage.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and claims systems preferred.
