Our esteemed client, an established MNC, is searching for a Mechanical Design Engineer (IC socket/ Connector Design):
Job Responsibilities
Engineering Responsibilities:
- Design IC sockets and components.
- Analyze requirements necessary for design.
- Review and validate drawings using CAD based on NBO/NTO.
- Inspect measurement results for locally produced parts and customer packages.
- Verify IC socket and component measurement reports.
- Compare customer package drawings with existing socket drawings.
- Modify and assemble parts for IC sockets.
- Participate in the global engineering team.
- Offer technical support to the Sales team as required.
- Provide technical support to customers via phone, email, and on-site visits.
- Collaborate with vendors to address issues with piece parts manufacturing.
- Conduct quality checks for assembly and piece parts.
Information Management and Reporting:
- Gather, analyze, and summarize information for senior management to aid in decision-making.
- Maintain regular communication with other departments, management, customers, assigned factories, and freight forwarders.
- Share information with external consultants working on behalf of the company when necessary.
- Attend external meetings such as company group meetings, seminars, trade shows, conventions, and conferences for information sharing and learning purposes.
- Plan, coordinate, and prepare routine and special reports, surveys, research, and presentations related to departmental activities.
- Undertake special projects and other tasks as assigned by management.
- Report irregular issues and problems to supervisors for resolution.
- Plan, prepare, and deliver presentations to customers, at trade shows, meetings, etc.
- Develop new business opportunities using specialized knowledge and experience.
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in IC socket or connector design.
- Experience with machining, stamping, and injection molding parts.
- Proficiency in SolidWorks for 3D design and 2D drawing creation.
- Experience in product problem analysis and project management.
- Thermal simulation experience (SolidWorks preferred, but not required).
- High-frequency electromagnetic structure simulation experience (Ansys HFSS preferred, but not required).
Additional Information:
- Salary: Up to SGD 5,500 +AWS +VB
- Working Location: Central
