Resident Physician (Urgent Care Centre)

The Urgent Care Centre @ Admiralty provides a one-stop service on consultation, diagnosis and treatment for conditions requiring urgent attention. A multi-disciplinary team of healthcare professionals including doctors, nurses, pharmacists, physiotherapists, radiographers and medical technologists is on hand to:
 
- Provide consultation for acute medical conditions
- Provide clinical treatment
- Perform minor surgery and procedures
- Perform X-ray and blood test
- Pharmacist consultation
 
We are looking for a highly motivated and passionate Resident Physician to be part of the care management team in the Urgent Care Centre. Your key responsibilities include:
 
- clinical assessment and clerking of new patients
- obtain consent for procedures and perform procedures
- provide diagnosis and treatment plans to patients/ patients’ next-of-kin
- attend and contribute to CME activities such as Morbidity and Mortality, Grand Rounds, Journal Clubs etc
- provide emergency care and resuscitation of the critically ill and injured
- provide urgent care to ambulatory patients, including teleconsultation
- observe and treat patients requiring short-term observation in the Department
- arrange for hospital transfers, provide consultations and referrals
- provide contingency medical coverage eg. life support cover of non-clinical areas, field assistance to pre-hospital services
- promote good patient-doctor and staff relations within the Department/ Organisation
- prepare medical reports as and when directed
- any other duties as assigned by the Director of Service
 
You will take on clinical shifts between 8am to 11pm and each shift is between 7 to 8 hours.
 
 
JOB REQUIREMENTS
- Possess a basic medical degree and/or postgraduate medical degree registrable with the Singapore Medical Council
- Minimum 3 years of working experience as Medical Officer or equivalent
- Hold Full registration with the Singapore Medical Council
- Possess a valid BCLS/ AED certification
- Possess a valid malpractice medical insurance coverage
- Meticulous and organised with a good follow-through
- Team-player with good communication skills
- Strong interpersonal skills that enable communication with staff from different levels
- Able to adapt to and thrive in a fast-paced working environment with high workload
