Job Description

Key Responsibilities

Incident & Request Management

  • Swiftly resolve incidents impacting users, ensuring thorough investigation and communication throughout the incident lifecycle.
  • Proactively identify workarounds and coordinate stakeholders during major incidents.
  • Prioritize and handle user requests effectively, escalating when necessary while remaining the primary point of contact.
  • Communicate clearly and promptly with users, senior management, and IT stakeholders.

Problem Management & Continuous Improvement

  • Identify root causes of recurring issues and propose sustainable solutions (e.g., automation, feature enhancements).
  • Maintain a knowledge base and collaborate with build and operations teams.
  • Conduct user training to reduce repetitive requests and improve system usage.

Application Monitoring & Support

  • Define and implement application monitoring (preferably as code) for early incident detection.
  • Monitor and supervise daily/monthly batch processes, ensuring minimal downtime.
  • Provide Level 2 support to back-office users and coordinate cross-team incident resolution.

Production & Deployment

  • Participate in production deployments, including weekend releases (on a rotational basis).
  • Validate releases and ensure smooth transition to production environments.

Technical Skills

  • Languages: Java, PL/SQL, Python, Shell scripting, PowerShell, SQL
  • Platforms: UNIX/Linux  
  • Databases: Oracle, Sybase, Big Data technologies
  • Tools: ElasticSearch, Grafana, Prometheus, Kibana, Control-M, Kafka, Confluence, Jira, GitLab, MQ Series
  • DevOps: Git, Maven/Gradle/NuGet, Ansible, Jenkins, Docker, Kubernetes  

Domain Expertise

  • Strong experience in the capital markets domain, particularly in back-office operations and support.
  • Deep understanding of financial instruments such as Repos, Bonds, Securities, and the trade lifecycle.
  • Familiarity with regulatory reporting (e.g., MMSR).
  • Experience supporting capital market applications and trading systems, ideally within Market Risk or Front Office environments.
  • Solid grasp of financial products including Treasury, FX, Credit, IRD, Bonds, RSF, etc.
