Students explore how trends develop and impact the industry, making their own predictions based on evidence and research. The course requires students to dive deep into specific game genres, tracking their evolution and projecting future developments. Additionally, the course emphasizes continuous professional development through class participation, peer critique, and collaborative interaction, mirroring the soft skills essential for the games industry.

Applicants to this position will be able to demonstrate expertise in industry analysis and game studies, with a high capacity for identifying and articulating shifts in market trends, technology, and player behaviour. Applicants will be able to demonstrate passion in guiding students through rigorous research methodologies, helping them translate data and history into logical future projections. You will be responsible for fostering a high-engagement studio environment, providing frequent verbal feedback and facilitating peer critiques that build the teamwork and communication skills necessary for professional success.

Candidates should have a relevant Master’s and/or PhD in Game Studies, Media Studies, Digital Sociology, or Game Design with a track record of creative or academic practice that involves trend forecasting or industry reporting.
