WHAT YOU WILL DO

Logistics High Level Planning:

  • Define the AS-IS processes/logistics spend baselines and develop a multi-year regional logistics improvement plan, focusing on cost reduction, service improvements, and network optimization
  • Works closely with global logistics director on deployment of global logistics initiatives, roadmaps, providing insights and analytics
  • Collaborate with market logistics managers and business functions (sales, planning, procurement) to identify and deliver against logistics capability requirements
  • Get sponsorship from local Supply Chain Directors, Sales Directors and Finance Directors 

Vendor and Supplier Management:

  • Network with key 3PL providers, freight forwarders, and other vendors to ensure quality, safety, cost-effectiveness, and OTIF
  • Assess current vendor performance management framework, SLAs and enhance effectiveness
  • Partners externally with consultants to build logistics capability, roll out VSM, cost-to-serve program and train market teams

Cost Management and Optimization:

  • Develops and deploys right suite of Logistics KPIs (including in-process), use data-driven insights to monitor logistics performance (KPIs) and help markets implement corrective actions to address any risks / opportunities
  • Participates in monthly cost reviews with markets, partners with local / regional finance, consolidates market insights and presents quarterly to APAC President & Regional Finance Director, Global Plan & Deliver Director

Customer Collaboration:

  • Develops and applies customer collaboration framework for key customers, tracks actions against improvement areas from Advantage survey
  • Improves Order Management tool performance in conjunction with OCs and IT teams

Cross-Functional Collaboration: 

  • Works closely with Procurement on yearly container freight tender finding the best solutions balancing cost and service
  • Works closely with the customer service and operations teams to address any systemic issues that may affect delivery timelines or product availability 

Risk Management and Compliance:

  • Understand and mitigate logistics-related risks, including supply chain disruptions, regulatory changes, and customs issues
  • Coordinates reporting, validation and reduction of logistics CO2 footprint for BUAP

Continuous Improvement and Innovation:

  • Lead the implementation of new technologies like PEAK and TMS that improve supply chain visibility, efficiency, and cost management 
  • Help map AS-IS and TO BE processes, act as regional key user for new tools
  • Drive adoption of best practices and innovative solutions
  • Acts as logistics SME for the region and represents in global forums

SKILLS REQUIRED

  • Strong leadership and excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to leverage data and KPIs to drive decision-making / MS Excel skills
  • Deep understanding of logistics network, transportation management, warehousing, inventory control, and supply chain optimization
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities simultaneously
  • Excellent problem-solving and conflict resolution skills
  • Proficiency in English, with Mandarin capability being a big plus
  • Commercially-savvy - understands the commercial levers of the business and can easily link business outcome with supply chain implications
  • Courage to lead transformational initiatives in a fast-paced environment 
  • Proactive and pragmatic in managing unexpected events and circumstances
  • Ability to present key information to senior management and stakeholders in an engaging way, effective communication with stakeholders
  • Knowledge of SAP or other ERP systems and Logistics tools

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

  • University degree, APICS or other supply chain diploma / certification
  • 10+ years of experience in logistics or supply chain management within an FMCG, retail, or manufacturing environment 
  • Experience of managing 3PL relationships and performance, local warehouse / transportation tenders, 3PL transitions, ocean freight logistics 
  • Freight procurement experience nice to have 
  • Experience with ERP systems and logistics software, as well as familiarity with customs compliance and international trade regulations

OTHER

  • Available to travel 10-15% of the time
