Key Responsibilities:

Procurement Responsibility

  • Strategy Development: Support in developing and implementing procurement strategies aligned with overall business objectives. Desirable knowledge and networks within chemicals industry, and preferably strong experience to develop category strategies and drive savings procurement categories

  • Supplier Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, negotiate contracts, and ensure compliance with agreements and performance metrics.

  • Cost Savings Initiatives: Identify opportunities for cost reduction, value creation, and process optimization within the procurement function.

  • Risk Management: Assess and mitigate planning and procurement risks, including supply chain disruptions, price volatility, and regulatory compliance.

  • Team Leadership: Set up, lead and mentor a team of planning and procurement professionals, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including finance, operations, and legal, to ensure alignment and support for procurement initiatives.

  • Market Analysis: Monitor market trends, supplier capabilities, and industry best practices to inform procurement strategy and decision-making and sharing best practices with rest of APAC countries.

  • Performance Monitoring: Support in establishing KPIs and metrics to track procurement performance, identify areas for improvement, and drive accountability

  • Compliance and Ethics: Ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and company policies, promoting ethical conduct and integrity in all procurement activities.

  • Continuous Improvement: Strong on procurement processes and able to understand across key aspects of Supply Chain including Planning, Logistics, Warehousing and drive process improvements and simplification. Drive continuous improvement initiatives within the procurement function, leveraging technology, process optimization, and sharing of best practices with rest of APAC countries.

  • Procurement system Management: strong support in implementing new/improved procurement system and tools, SAP MM P2P module improvements, Coupa and ensure to utilise and participate in procurement systems/tools improvement projects.

Planning Responsibility

  • Material master data: Oversee the teamโ€™s role to obtain all material data, request, and coordinate with all the respective functions for timely and accurate material master data creation/update.
  • S&OP and S&OE: Lead the monthly Sales & Operations Planning/Execution Meeting to review Demand, Supply, and Inventory plans/execution risks with the Commercial teams to validate and align the supply chain plans.
  • Demand Planning: Coordinate with customers and Commercial teams to gather market insights and project sales forecast. Value-add to the demand planning process by providing baseline forecast, critically analyzing validity of the forecasts based on trends and historical performance.
  • Supply Planning: Review the optimal supply planning policies, strategies, and plans that optimize cost, cash and service objectives in collaboration with the Commercial and Controlling teams.
  • Planning system management: Coordinate with the Regional Planning team and SAP/IT team to resolve planning system issues, promptly maintain and update planning parameters, and develop functional documentation for continuous operational stability.
  • Inventory Optimization & Risk Management: Implement strategies to optimize inventory while maintaining high service levels. Partner with Commercial and Controlling to mitigate aging inventory to drive clearance plans and prevent surplus orders to minimize stock write-offs.
  • Continuous improvement: Gather feedback from commercial, customer service, and controlling to grasp the key areas for improvement. Use a data-driven approach to analyse and identify the supply chain bottlenecks that is driving inaccurate plans, and gaps between planning and execution, providing actionable insights to all responsible functions to drive improvements.
  • Key performance indicators (KPIs): Accountable to achieve target inventory turn, inventory days, inventory coverage, ageing inventory, stock write-offs, forecast accuracy, forecast bias, and any other metrics as directed.

Requirements:

  • Bachelorโ€™s degree in business, supply chain management, or a related field; or advanced degree
  • Proven work experience in planning and procurement leadership roles, preferably within a multinational corporation or global organization and ideally within chemicals/ingredients industry.
  • Deep understanding of Procurement & Planning best practices, market dynamics, and supply chain management principles.
  • Strong negotiation skills, with a track record of achieving cost savings and value creation through supplier relationships.
  • Excellent leadership and team management abilities, with a focus on coaching, development, and empowerment.
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to translate business objectives into actionable procurement strategies.
  • Analytical mindset, with proficiency in data analysis, financial modeling, and performance metrics.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence key stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
