With increasing opportunities in APAC, we are partnering with them to recruit a Regional Business Development & Portfolio Expansion Manager APAC, based in Singapore. 

This strategic role is responsible for driving external growth initiatives, regional portfolio development, and market expansion across the region. The successful candidate will combine strong commercial acumen with a solid understanding of the Consumer Healthcare, FMCG, or Pharma landscape in Asia. This is a unique opportunity to shape the future of the Company's Consumer Healthcare presence in Asia. You'll play a key role in both the acceleration of existing markets and the opening of new ones, with exposure to high-impact projects, direct senior leadership interaction, and the ability to drive meaningful, region-wide growth.

This role will lead:
  • External opportunity sourcing (product acquisitions, licensing-in, CMO partnerships),
  • Regional geo-expansion initiatives, including partner identification and go-to-market strategy development,
  • Internal innovation projects from ideation to in-market execution.

1. External Growth & Portfolio Expansion:
  • Proactively identify and assess external opportunities including product dossiers for acquisition or in-licensing, new categories, line extensions, and CMO partnerships to expand and diversify the APAC CHC portfolio.
  • Conduct comprehensive market, regulatory, and competitive assessments to evaluate fit, feasibility, and commercial potential.
  • Lead cross-functional due diligence processes involving regulatory, supply chain, finance, legal, medical, and marketing stakeholders.
  • Prepare strategic business cases and recommendations for regional and global leadership teams.
  • Build and maintain a structured pipeline of external growth opportunities aligned with regional strategic priorities.
2. Geo-Expansion & New Market Entry:
  • Lead regional expansion initiatives across priority APAC markets by identifying new commercial opportunities for the Company's CHC portfolio.
  • Map, assess, and qualify potential local partners (distributors, promotional partners, joint ventures) based on capabilities, market presence, and strategic fit.
  • Design and manage RFP processes for partner selection in new markets, ensuring transparency, structured evaluation, and cross-functional alignment.
  • Build go-to-market strategies propositions for each country, incorporating market access, regulatory timelines, field force model, channel strategy (OTC/ethical), and brand portfolio prioritization.
  • Where applicable, assess opportunities for local acquisitions (brands or companies) and lead the strategic and operational evaluation process in collaboration with finance, legal, and corporate development.
  • Collaborate with commercial and functional teams to ensure successful entry and scale-up in new markets.
3. Internal Innovation & New Product Development:
  • Drive regional innovation projects from idea generation to successful market launch.
  • Facilitate ideation sessions and consumer insight activities with local teams to ensure concepts are relevant and actionable.
  • Oversee cross-functional project planning, feasibility studies, and go-to-market implementation.
  • Support post-launch monitoring for the first 6 months and coordinate course corrections as needed based on early performance data.
4. Strategic and Operational Leadership:
  • Act as a strategic partner to the Head of Commercial Excellence & BD and the APAC GM to align regional growth initiatives with overall business objectives.
  • Foster collaboration across functions (regulatory, supply, medical, finance, legal, marketing) to ensure seamless execution of BD and innovation projects.
  • Stay current with CHC trends, competitive landscape, and regulatory developments in APAC to inform strategy and pipeline planning.
  • Represent the APAC region in global business development forums, innovation workshops, and leadership reviews.

Kowneldge, abilities and experience
  • Demonstrated experience in identifying local partners, managing RFP processes, and designing go-to-market strategies for new country entries.
  • Proven track record in sourcing and executing licensing or M&A / acquisition deals across APAC markets.
  • Strong knowledge of regulatory and commercial dynamics in key APAC markets.
  • Exceptional project management and cross-functional leadership skills.
  • Strategic thinker with a proactive, analytical, and results-driven mindset.
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business, Pharmacy, Life Sciences, or a related field; MBA or equivalent business qualification is a strong plus.
  • 8-10 years of experience in Business Development, Licensing, Innovation Management, or Market Expansion in the Consumer Healthcare, Pharma, or FMCG sectors.
  • Languages: Fluent English in written and oral, fluency in one or more Asian languages is a plus.
