Established in 2010, the Energy Research Institute @ NTU (ERI@N) is a pan-university research institute that focuses on systems-level research for tropical megacities. It performs translational research that covers the energy value chain from generation to innovative end-use solutions, motivated by industrialisation and deployment. ERI@N has multiple Interdisciplinary Research Programmes which focus on translational Research, Development & Deployment which focus on specific area of the energy value chain, and a number of Living labs and Testbeds which facilitate large scale technology deployment enabling validation and demonstration of real-world applications.

We are looking for a Research Fellow to conduct a project in a multi-disciplinary team. The role will focus on the conversion of biomass to low carbon fuels using life cycle assessment and techno-economic analysis of specific technologies develop in the project and compare against existing commercial technologies.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform literature review on data available for commercial processes
Provide estimations for data not available in literature
Develop process flowsheets to describe the processes developed in the project and commercial processes
Perform life cycle assessment and techno-economic analysis processes developed in the project and commercial processes
Prepare manuscripts, reports and presentations
Guide and train students and junior lab members
Maintain complete documentation for modelling methods and analysis used
Regular communications with supervisors on progress and report writing
Job Requirements:
PhD degree in chemical engineering or closely related field
Good understanding of LCA and TEA theories and calculations
Experience on ASPEN-HYSYS and LCA software tools
