Senior C++ Developer – E-Trading Software | Capital Markets

EC1 Partners are working with a leading E-Trading software provider seeking a Senior C++ Developer to join their high-performing engineering team. This role suits a hands-on developer with strong technical expertise in building performant systems for the front office in institutional finance.

You’ll work on designing and developing cutting-edge low-latency trading solutions and infrastructure that directly support institutional clients. A background in capital markets, electronic trading, or financial services is highly desirable.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and maintain high-performance, low-latency trading platforms using modern C++

• Contribute to the development of algorithmic trading systems and large-scale analytics engines

• Analyse and optimise existing software to improve scalability, reliability, and performance

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate new features and components efficiently

• Participate in architectural discussions and technical design processes

Qualifications/Skills:

• Strong experience with modern C++ (C++14/17/20), with 5+ years of hands-on development

• Solid understanding of multithreading, memory management, and performance tuning

• Experience building real-time trading or capital markets systems

• Familiarity with low-latency, high-throughput applications

• Experience with Linux systems and associated toolchains

• Strong understanding of software design patterns and system architecture

• Effective communicator with the ability to work closely with both technical and business teams

• Experience with financial markets, particularly FX, is a plus

• Knowledge of EMS/OMS platforms is an advantage
