As a Software Engineer II at JPMorgan Chase within the Equities Technology Team, you are an integral part of an agile team that works to enhance, build, and deliver trusted market-leading technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable way. Drive significant business impact through your capabilities and contributions and apply deep technical expertise and problem-solving methodologies to tackle a diverse array of challenges that span multiple technologies and applications. 

Job responsibilities 

 

  • Develops secure and high-quality production code, and reviews and debugs code written by others 
  • Regularly provides technical guidance and direction to support the business and its technical teams 
  • Continuously improve software development processes and tools to ensure efficient and effective software development 
  • Collaborate with the software development team and stakeholders to identify and prioritize software needs 
  • Design and implement software solutions with a focus on optimizing performance and ensuring high reliability. 
  • Troubleshoot and debug issues and provide timely resolutions 
  • Stay current with industry trends, emerging technologies, best practices and recommend innovations in software development 
  • Provide technical mentorship to team members helping them grow their skills and advance their careers 

 

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills 

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, Mathematics, or other related disciplines
  • 5 or more years of software engineering experience. Mastery in Java with respect to designing, coding, testing , and software delivery
  • Strong proficiency in Java 17, Oracle, Spring Boot, ReactJS
  • Exposure to AWS infrastructure and services
  • Ability to tackle design and functionality problems independently with little to no oversight 
  • Hands-on practical experience delivering system design, application development, testing, and operational stability 
  • Advanced understanding of agile methodologies such as CI/CD, Application Resiliency, and Security 
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and Operational stakeholders 
  • Demonstrates analytical and problem-solving skills and attention to detail
