MISSION



Under the supervision of the IT Director, the end-user computing lead is responsible for implementing the school’s IT strategy in terms of end-user computing, software deployment and devices fleet management (MDM).



The aim is to provide the IFS users with a secure, efficient and innovative IT system fulfilling business needs, and to ensure the proper functioning, updating and maintenance of these systems.



RESPONSIBILITIES


  • Design the device requirements

  • Coach IT-Support team members and share knowledge with IT team colleagues

  • Asset and configuration management. You can maintain secure configuration and accurate information, controlling IT assets in one or more significant areas. You can verify the location and state of assets (inventory management)

  • Change management. You can implement changes based on requests for change. You can apply change control procedures, and ensure validation by all stakeholders prior to the change.

  • Continual service improvement. You can show an awareness of developing process efficiency and common ways in which processes are optimized. You can support specific activities to improve development processes. You can spot or identify obvious deficiencies. 

  • Ownership and initiative. You can own an issue until a new owner has been found or the problem has been mitigated or resolved.

  • Problem management. You can investigate problems in systems, processes and services, with an understanding of the level of a problem (for example, strategic, tactical or operational). You can contribute to the implementation of remedies and preventative measures.

  • Customer focus. You can take inputs and establish coherent frameworks that work.

  • Service management framework knowledge. You have a Level 3 service management framework qualification.

  • Reporting. You can produce relevant reports in a standard format and agreed timeframe. You can work with important stakeholders to discuss any changes in the reporting processes. You can add a commentary that provides an interpretation of the data set. (Skill level: working)

  • Technical understanding. You can understand the core technical concepts related to the role, and apply them with guidance. 

  • Testing. You can review requirements and specifications, and define test conditions. You can identify issues and risks associated with work. You can analyze and report test activities and results.

  • User focus. You can identify and engage with users or stakeholders to collate user needs evidence. You can understand and define research that fits user needs. You can use quantitative and qualitative data about users to turn user focus into outcomes. 


SKILLS, ABILITY AND REQUIRED QUALIFICATION 


  • Master in Computer Sciences, Information Technology

  • 3-7 years’ experience in IT systems management

  • Experience in vendor management and purchasing

  • ITIL certified

  • Project Management experience (PMP or Prince2 training and certification would be a plus)

  • Excellent communication skills

  • Out-of-the box thinking and problem-solving attitude

  • Organized and methodical, capable of coordinating and delivering projects on time and on budget

  • Proficiency in English and French to maintain IT systems in French and English and to communicate with stakeholders (staff, institution, vendors) in both languages

  • MDM and GPO expertise. You have a robust knowledge of MDM tools and implementations of large scale targeted group policies (GPO). You are familiar or expert with tools such as SCCM, JAMF, Intunes, Google Administration Console, GoGuardian.  You can use these tools to investigate problems, collect performance statistics and create reports. You can carry out the routine configuration, installation and reconfiguration as needed and approved. You can optimize performance and forecast resource needs.

  • You are well versed in a variety of Operating Systems : Windows 10, Windows 11, ChromeOS, iPadOS


WORK RELATIONSHIPS


  • Reports directly to the IT Director

  • Regular interactions with business managers in other departments, especially the academic teams

  • Management of multiple software vendors and services providers


WORKING CONDITIONS


  • Permanent contract - 42 hours per week

  • Remuneration according to the IFS salary grid
