Intern, Software Engineer

At Data4Life Asia, we value our interns by providing meaningful learning opportunities in digital health. You’ll be working closely with our full-time employees to contribute to existing digital health software and open source software. You can also work on prototypes if you have ideas on how our digital health solutions can best serve our end users! Our interns take ownership of their work – and they pride themselves in developing solutions that help people. You’ll have the opportunity to contribute your skills, specialities and ideas the same way our full-timers do.

We particularly value internship applicants who have/are

• Sound programming skills in at least one programming language like Java or JavaScript

• Ideally you have knowledge of an UI framework e.g. React.js

• Get in touch with the latest technologies GraphQL, Kubernetes and in-memory databases

• A team player who loves to share knowledge and ideas with your colleagues

• Have strong analytical skills

• Preference will be given to students from institutes of higher learning in Singapore e.g. universities or polytechnics

Only applicants who meet the following criteria should apply

• Must be able to commit full time for a minimum of 5 months (please include start date and duration of availability)

• Currently based in Singapore and do not require a working visa

• Option for hybrid work model but must be able to attend in-person meetings/workshops when necessary

Data4Life is a nonprofit organization with the vision of making the world a healthier place. With an international team, we work together on the mission to digitize health research. By linking technology and research, we make health data available to research in a comprehensive, digital and secure way. Our interdisciplinary team in Potsdam, Berlin and Singapore brings together experts from fields such as product development, digital engineering, data security and science. Data4Life was founded in 2017 and is funded by the Hasso Plattner Foundation.
