[What the role is]

The Aviation Industry Division seeks to support the development and transformation of Singapore’s air hub, to ensure its continued growth and competitiveness.

[What you will be working on]

You will play a key role in (i) fostering partnerships through account management of key aviation stakeholders, in particular in the area of airport operations and ground handling; (ii) formulating and implementing sector development policies, with a focus on driving sustainability or decarbonisation of airside operations and ground handling; and (iii) develop and evaluate grant proposals to support capability development and adoption of sustainable technologies and solutions, to achieve the decarbonisation targets set out in the Singapore Sustainable Air Hub Blueprint.

You will craft policy papers and presentations to substantiate recommended policy directions and strategies. In addition, you will take a proactive project management role in procuring, commissioning and project managing trials of new decarbonisation solutions in airport operations, especially in the use of cleaner energy options for airside vehicles, be it through electrification, use of biofuels or renewable fuels, and hydrogen. For many of such efforts, you will have to bring together industry stakeholders and technology or solution providers, and also work in partnership with safety regulators.

You will also work closely with relevant Divisions and colleagues within CAAS to track and monitor the impact of innovation and productivity efforts and grants.

[What we are looking for]

  • Training in any discipline preferably Business, Economics, or Engineering, with at least 5-8 years of experience 

  • Preference for prior experience in public policy, particularly in industry development or account management

  • Independent self-starter, with drive and initiative and able to engage wide variety of stakeholders independently to identify new opportunities for partnership

  • Able to manage complexity and ambiguity, and ‘unpack’ issues clearly to be presented to decision-makers for guidance

  • Strong writing and presentation skills, with the ability to convey your views clearly and succinctly

  • Excellent team player, with the ability to work closely with multiple stakeholders across both public and private sector agencies and rally them towards a common goal

  • Has keen interest in sustainability related topics

Note: Your appointment designation will be commensurate with your relevant work experience. Successful candidates will be offered a 3-year contract in the first instance and may be considered for placement on a permanent tenure or subsequent contract renewal subject to performance.
