Established in 1992, the Wee Kim Wee School of Communication and Information (WKWSCI) is the only full-fledged communication school in Singapore and is a world-class centre of excellence with an international faculty, state-of-the-art research laboratories, and global institutional affiliations.
We are looking for a Project Manager to join a research project on “Designing inclusion with Blind and Visually Impaired Communities in Singapore”.
The candidate will lead and support the planning and execution of various research grants, and will work closely with the Principal Investigator on critical, quantitative and qualitative research related to the main research project and other related research projects.
Key Responsibilities:
Keep track of expenditure and remaining budget in an organised manner, ensuring that spending is optimised and aligned with grant goals
Liaise with external vendors to support purchases of necessary equipment/materials for research studies, including specialised equipment, software, and participant incentives
Manage stakeholders towards the successful completion of the project
Lead in research, including but not limited to the following:
Lead/assist in data gathering (including focus group discussion and surveys)
Lead and conduct literature reviews and work on research papers
Assist in conceptualisation and planning of research projects
Conduct analysis of data, including but not limited to interview and survey data
Actively contribute to the writing of academic research manuscripts, conference presentation and other research-related documentation
Lead the writing of reports
Carry out administrative work associated with the program of research as necessary
Support PI in other research projects
Job Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Communication, Sociology, English or a related discipline (across humanities and social sciences)
Prior experience and familiarity with disability related research or disability sector
Minimum of eight years’ working experience in research or in media and communications.
Prior experience supporting research projects is preferred.
Strong organisational and multitasking skills, especially ability to handle large budgets and stakeholders
Good critical academic writing and documentation skills
Familiarity with research processes and tools is an advantage
Proficiency in statistical software (e.g., SPSS, R or Python) and Microsoft Excel
Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in an inclusive, multicultural, interdisciplinary environment; excellent interpersonal and communication skills
