ATMRI is seeking to hire a Research Engineer to conduct innovative research in the development of artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning techniques aimed at enhancing Air Traffic Flow Management (ATFM). The candidate should be able to conduct independent research in ATFM-related AI and machine learning application and assist in the preparation of technical reports and progress documentation.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct research and development of AI/ML algorithms, including Reinforcement Learning and multi-agent decision making, for advanced ATFM concepts.
Perform data mining, data analytics, and model development to support decision-making in air traffic flow optimization under uncertainty.
Design and develop simulation environments, intelligent tools, and functional prototypes to test and validate ATFM solutions.
Communicate and collaborate effectively with industrial and academic partners to align research goals with operational needs.
Requirements:
Masterβs degree in Computer Science/Aerospace Engineering/Operation Research or equivalent
Experience in programming: excellent knowledge of Python Programming Languages
Demonstrated project experience related to mathematical modelling, applied Machine Learning and Reinforcement Learning.
Experience in developing simulation environments, decision support tools, or prototypes for complex systems.
Familiarity with Air Traffic Management (ATM), Air Traffic Flow Management (ATFM), or aviation systems is highly desirable.
Strong analytical and technical writing skills for reporting and documentation.
Able to work independently and be a team player.
