About the Chemicals & Materials Division
The Chemicals & Materials (C&M) Division in EDB strongly believes that chemistry and materials can positively impact people and our environment. We partner some of the most innovative and leading chemical companies in the world and engage their senior executives to formulate and execute our strategies to grow Singaporeโs Chemical sector sustainably. We aspire for Singaporeโs chemical sector to be at the forefront of decarbonisation, circularity and industrial biotechnology. Our work translates into multimillion dollar investments in R&D, and manufacturing and headquarter activities as well as good jobs for Singaporeans.
Job Responsibilities
This is an individual contributor role. You will work closely with colleagues in EDB across different divisions, key industry partners, and officers from other government agencies.
Your responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
- Owning, driving and developing key account engagement plans, to co-solution with them and grow the breadth and depth of their investments in Singapore
- Shaping sectoral strategy through insights derived from company and executive interactions as well as broader market studies
- Designing and implementing specific initiatives to drive sector development, including working with other government stakeholders to influence policy design
- Performing as a peer leader to guide junior officers in developing industry knowledge and account management competencies
To meet the challenges of the role, you will have to:
- Have a good understanding of the chemical industry and/or related industries, including global and regional developments that affect the industry
- Build an in-depth understanding of your accounts, including their business priorities and strategies, and key stakeholders
Requirements
- At least 6-8 years of relevant work experience
- Experience in strategy development, B2B business development or account management, and experience in the Energy & Chemical industries will be an added advantage
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and spoken; including ability and experience in engaging complex stakeholders
- Strong organisational and data management skills
- Self-motivated and positive attitude, excellent work ethic and a team player
- Singaporean
