AIG Underwriting teams help to find insurance solutions in areas including Financial Lines, Property, Casualty, Specialty Lines, Cyber, and Multinational Clients. How you will create an impact

As an experienced member of the team, you are respected for your deep technical expertise and/or ability to oversee programs and processes. You balance the needs of multiple stakeholders, making sound decisions using data, analysis, experience, and judgment, along with a risk mindset. Ultimately, you take ownership for key outcomes.

  • Ensure that production growth targets are achieved and provide leadership to take remedial action to address shortfall.
  • Take accountability for Profit Centre P&L.
  • Establish / execute strategic business plans to achieve profitable growth in line with Profit Centre & country targets.
  • Prepare, manage and execute production and expense budgets in line with Profit Centre & country targets.
  • Ensure adherence with all underwriting guidelines and bulletins.
  • Manage the portfolio in profitable and sustainable growth, closely following claims activity trends.
  • Ensure adherence with all reporting requirements.
  • Review, analyze and underwrite new and renewal business within underwriting authority.
  • Provide technical direction to underwriters in the Profit Centre.
  • Negotiate terms and conditions with clients and broker.
  • Keep abreast of market changes and trends. Provide strategic direction for new business / new product development.
  • Develop and maintain strong personal and professional relationships with clients.

What you’ll need to succeed

  • Strong understanding of the Singapore and Asian Commercial Property market and landscape.
  • Strong relationships with Singapore based direct and reinsurance brokers.
  • Strong relationships with Asian Cedants located in Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand, China, Korea and Vietnam.
  • Strong technical knowledge of both direct and reinsurance contracts.
  • Knowledge of insurance and Facultative Reinsurance placements.
  • Understanding of multinational insurance programmes.
  • Analytical individual with strong business acumen.
  • Strong negotiation skills.
  • Good team player with excellent interpersonal skill.
  • Self-motivated and uses own initiative for both internal and external issues.
  • Capabilities to maintain a flexible approach in a changing work environment.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office.
