Software Engineering Director (Java)

• Lead development activities for web and mobile channel applications (iOS and Android).
• Identify technical risks proactively and recommend mitigation strategies.
• Validate performance benchmarks and drive optimization initiatives.
• Ensure compliance with security, privacy, regulatory, and governance requirements.
• Maintain architecture, design, and review documentation.
• Provide hands-on technical guidance, mentoring, and coaching to development teams.
• Foster a culture of quality, accountability, and continuous improvement.
• Collaborate with Product Owners, Architects, QA teams, business stakeholders, and technology partners to ensure successful delivery.
• Align platform architecture, standards, roadmaps, and development practices with requirements.
• Translate business needs into effective technology solutions and coordinate delivery with internal and external teams.
• Drive process automation and development efficiency initiatives.
• Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend adoption where beneficial.
• Promote innovation and engineering best practices across the organization.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
• Approximately 10 years of experience delivering IT solutions within financial institutions.
• Strong hands-on expertise in Java, Spring Boot, REST APIs, gRPC, and microservices architecture.
• Proven experience delivering internet-facing web and mobile applications with SSO, OIDC, SAML, MFA, secure session management, SPA architectures, and OWASP compliance.
• Strong knowledge of Kafka, APIs, IBM MQ, RabbitMQ, and secure file-based/system integrations.
• Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, Git, Jenkins, Maven, GitOps/ArgoCD, CI/CD pipelines, and cloud-native deployment models.
• Solid understanding of Oracle, NoSQL databases, Elasticsearch, JSON, XML, Protobuf, and OpenAPI.
• Exposure to payments, transaction banking, or cash management domains is an advantage.
• Experience managing and delivering large-scale enterprise system development projects.
• Strong ownership mindset with accountability for outcomes.
• Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to perform effectively in fast-paced and rapidly changing environments.
• Collaborative, professional, and team-oriented working approach.
